Hm, while I enjoyed the footage of today's video, I came to realize that dynasties is actually how I already play my aristocracy. I have many Houses, and there is always one Head of House. Each House even has a club to keep track on their central members. I do welcome some new features, and I will of course register the most important Houses as dynasties, but as I already have Coat of Arms / Emblems, that are not listed in the dynasty founding options, I'm a bit unsure what to do. I wished they would allow for custom images, or at least a generic shield to use for played families already having a symbol. My family trees will look a bit weird now that members of a dynesty will be tagged with a symbol that is different from the symbol they used in my game for up to seven generations, and still use.
I was a bit disappointed with the (lack of focus on new features in the) familytree. I was expecting them to show off a bit more complex trees, but there might be some more to it with the coming BG patch. Oh, the non legit child was a nice touch, but I wonder if all children being born outside marriage will have a dotty line, or will it only relate to dynasties? Many of my sims were born by parents living together, but not being married, they are mostly commoners, though.
I think I might focus a bit more on nobility than dynasties, but this pack will definitely keep me busy for a long time, both organizing all my existing nobles and Houses, and to benefit from BB/CAS and new features in the best way.
