It's funny. I just recently started playing a family and the first time she got pregnant, I really wanted her to have twins, but she didn't. So I had her get pregnant again pretty much right after cause I wanted them to be close in age. Well, guess what?! Yep, I ended up getting twins! So now I have more then what I was expecting but I'll try and roll with it for a while. Not sure how far I'll get cause sometimes a bigger family can be "stressful" in a way if you know what I mean. I almost think that game thought I just wanted to have one more kid and it was just like "nope, here you go!". I even had to hunt for a new house and everything.
Sometimes I love how the game throws in little curveballs :) One of my sims wants a big family, so I had them try for a third baby and now she's pregnant with twin girls. At the same time as her sister being pregnant with twin girls. I'd say try to stick with it, sometimes big families can be stressful but they can also be the most fun :)
In my game Geoffrey Landgraab had twins after he called my sim for advice on expanding his family and I said go for it. Had totally forgotten about him until a couple days ago when I used his household to check on active NAPs in his hood.
Kylen had twins... Because I was playing a legacy and Kylen turned out to be Gay, I rolled with it and allowed him to have a baby. I don't normally do that, but...
