When the Time Travel event started, I've created new family for the event, YA single father with two kids, boy and girl. During the second week of the event, the YA man unexpectedly died of laughter. The very first time I even saw this death in my game, BTW. I kept him as playable ghost, hoping to revive him in future. But I actually liked playing with him as ghost. He became famous writer and married Mitchell Kalani with whom he had science baby. Happy family now.
The second story goes to Sims 3. I played with the Goth family in Sunset Valley, hoping to relive Mortimer and Bella's story. But the game had its own head and once teen, Mortimer fell for Malcolm Landgraab and I went with it. Once they were YAs I married them, send them to future, where they genetically engineered girl named Cassandra and later adopted a boy named Alexander. Good thing was that Malcolm was never kidnapped by aliens, so, they lived happily ever after. And Bella? Well, she somehow ended with Arlo Bunch. What can I say? Sims 3 Story Progression is its own thing, sometimes.

Sorry your Sim died from laughter, its a silly feature. My heir died from laughter, she had six children, I didn't save. 😄 Good thing he could continue to exist and raise the kids.
Mortimer & Bella as teens, what a great idea in Sims 4! 🤔😊

Maybe silly, but actually realistic. I was surprised to find this, since I too thought it's another wacky thing EA added to the game, but no. Death by laughter actually did happen. It's very rare, but it exist. Though, I definitely wouldn't want to have that cause of death in my epitaph, that's for sure.
But, you know, as ghost he can't die again LOL
And teen Bella and Mortimer, plus some other teenaged Sims EA actually did as promo for High School Years. Search for "Copperdale Class of '00" in the Gallery ;-)
