Uni and holding down a job - can it work?

My sim started a Language and Literature course at university. She's going to be doing 1 paper a week. But I want to try the challenge of her working at the same time.

She has a job working as a Writer. What I tried was she took a vacation day and went to uni, there was still time to work when she finished so she went to work afterward.

Does anyone else's sims work and go to Uni? Suggestions to make it work?

  • I have had some do the part time jobs, especially Barista (which is an early am shift). I've had others do the Island Living Odd Jobs at basically every opportunity between coursework. A third Sim was in a work from home career, I think they were an engineer and could usually manage at least one of the tasks.
  • The trick is having hours that aren't within 8am-4:30pm Mon-Fri too often. Work-at-home and freelance careers work pretty well. So does culinary, using a vacation day here and there.
