Uni and holding down a job - can it work?

My sim started a Language and Literature course at university. She's going to be doing 1 paper a week. But I want to try the challenge of her working at the same time.

She has a job working as a Writer. What I tried was she took a vacation day and went to uni, there was still time to work when she finished so she went to work afterward.

Does anyone else's sims work and go to Uni? Suggestions to make it work?

I do it with careers where they have the option to work from home. The work tasks they give you are usually pretty minor so it's not a problem.

Yeah, I was shocked that the work from home teacher career took more time than I thought it woud, and I had to take the sim off lot to use the archive machine.

My sims youngest son is in the painter career and is taking classes to become a private lawyer and so far he hasn't had any schedule conflicts but that is only 1 class and 1 elective. I would like to know if anyone has a sim in the science career and taking classes too as I'm thinking about sending Mel to culinary school to do the 5 star chef achievement for the fresh chef trait, she has 52 vacation days so I could make it work if I can remember to call in...LoL :/
