Does it make sense to send a sim who's already an established doctor to uni? Will the get an advanced degree like a masters? More money? I sent him mainly because he bores me and need to give him some...

Yes, it makes sense. University degrees provide higher pay and easier promotions for the careers they go with. You might have to restart the career to see those benefits (not sure), but you'll restart at level 6 to 8 if you do, and get a signing bonus. Starting level is based on whether you have a distinguished degree and whether you got honors. Probably worthwhile especially if you're getting bored.
