University and rotational players...

Mainly I play rotational so I will play my uni sims 1 or 2 terms (max) and then rotate without re-enrolling as that saves my uni sims progress. Apart from the bug of having diplomas in the wrong household inventory I can play rotation with no issue. I’ve now rotated between 5 households all in different worlds

I will turn aging off completely while I play sims in university so I can make sure they don't fail or age out of sync with the rest of their family.

I play rotational and I was also wondering how it's going to work. If I send my sim to live in dorms it's going to age and get out of sync with the rest of their family back home age wise?

What I'm wondering is, if I have students in three different dorms, and I play a week in one dorm, do the other dorm students get credit for their classes? And what would happen if I start a new semester week in one dorm...do my other played students become unenrolled, or do they continue with the next classes, or do they repeat their classes?

In Sims 2 I had students in different dorms and Greek Houses, but because time stopped on inactive lots, I was able to go back and continue their progress and keep them alligned without missing out on any of their decisions or lives. But Sims 4 doesn't have time freeze so I'd really like to know how it would work.

Basically, I'd like to have a dorm for each school with my Sims in them simultaneously so that I can switch back and forth and have them prank each other's schools.

Either that, or leave some in limbo “not in world” while you focus on the others. Or have them live in regular housing so they’re not kicked out between terms and just play each through a complete term each rotation.

Regular housing does sound like a good idea! I wonder if they will lose their scholarships though. I hope they can reapply.

I can't say I'm very pleased with how it works, but I suppose I can deal with it. I rotate irregularly so at least there's that flexibility.

So FYI, I had several sims unrolled at the same time in both Universities. I played the one in Foxbury until she had only one simester left. Then I played a bit with a family living in Britechester town, and when I came back, my sim in foxbury had graduated and was packing out :(
Those enrolled in Britechester had finished their first simester, but had not yet enrolled for another, so I could still play with them.
They were unrolled at the same time as my sim in Foxbury.

So yes, while you’re away, your sims at uni will be pursuing their simester. I wish it was paused until we came back.

Did your sim start the final semester before you rotated to the family? Seems like if you leave a student late in a semester, they will complete just that semester while you are gone, and you can then enroll them for the next semester/term when you return to play them.

I'm thinking that discover university isn't really going to work well with rotational play for me unless I have my sims live at home which is kinda sad cause I wanted my them to experience the dorm life.

Yes she had just enrolled I think, before I switched to the family.
