- texxx785 years agoSeasoned Ace@jimbbq i agree. I always play from poor to rich and enjoy all the sacrifices my sims do to fulfill their lifes. But once in a while i feel it's realistic to have a sim that meets success by education. And it's nice that it takes so much effort to have a degree. That way i'll do it really only once in a big while and it doesn't disrupt my way of playing...
- so so true. I have a highly skilled super sim taking one course per semester and doing sports and the darned practice nightly still eats up his life. And nobody knows how to party...I think I will have him start dealing just to spice things up.

Maybe they want to bring back the sims 2 university spirit where the whole young adult stage is just for university. If you don’t go to uni they just turn right into adult :)
I really hope not. We need the 2 adult stages in the game because otherwise there is just not enough time for sims to live their lives and have kids. - PockyRulez5 years agoSeasoned AdventurerI find it pretty realistic in terms of difficulty, given the trade offs for what you’re getting out of it.
You can try to complete a whole degree as soon as possible by taking a full load each term, but sacrifice your social life (and sanity) just like in real life.
Alternatively, you can take it slow and only be a student part time and it’ll just take a really long time to finish, but you then have so much more time for other things like deeper friendships and part time jobs or kids.
In exchange for either route, you can skip practically 80% of an entire career track and get automatic skill gains just for going to class and doing homework. Sounds worth the time investment in some cases.
That being said, the default length of the “Normal” lifespan only really lends itself to the idea of getting through university with a full course load. This also means that your whole YA stage will be spent in uni. Depending on how you normally play the game, uni might be worth the pain so that you can reach the end of your career track pretty early into the Adult stage.
I prefer to modify my lifespan with MCCC to be realistic, and that lets me finish uni with some days of YA left, but again, that’s still assuming I take a full course load.
I think that’s the biggest “difficulty” the pack has. Trying to balance the time spent working vs playing and then trying to balance that with how long you plan on staying at uni vs living your normal life. It’s honestly very realistic and kind of mentally draining, just like real college :D - I use a mod which shortens the time required to complete homework assignments, not to mention my sims are vampires so they were rarely late for class. University was a breeze..they all graduated with an A.
- There's only two expansion packs that I regret buying and those are Island Living and University. University is so hard and so boring! I super duper wish I didn't have it as it hasn't changed anything apart from making me feel rubbish that my sim didn't graduate!
- Use a mod to shorten credits and it will be playable. Kinda
- Beardedgeek725 years agoSeasoned AceAs I said before, I figured this out very quickly.
1. ALWAYS pause aging before going to UNI.
2. I find 5 years to be realistic-ish. This means 3-3-2-2-2 classes. That makes it almost impossible to not get A or A+ across the board by the end of Uni. "Sindocat;c-17488886" wrote:

@telmarina Whilst I agree that the benefit is huge for the sim I do like to play sim’s career from low rank to the highest, it gives me a great deal of satisfaction to level up their career from the humble beginning :)
And you can still actually do that, even with a degree. Just take the base career, and not the advanced branch that the degree enables you to start in, instead. You won't get the advancement perk, but you'll have the benefit of skills improved through coursework in your major.
I think when you get a job relevant to the degree you automatically get promoted to level 5,6 ?!- I was really excited about this EP until I sent my first sim off to Uni. She failed 2 classes her first semester. Granted, I had her doing 4 classes but she was the only sim I was playing.
I have since sent two sisters off to Uni together. I have a mod which makes homework way faster and it's somewhat more bearable. Each semester I had them take 3 core classes and 1 elective. One of the girls had soccer as an extracciricular and the other I had get a part time job as a life gaurd maybe 2 weeks in. They both graduated with honors but it was a struggle! I can't say I enjoyed it all that much to be honest. The boosts in their careers was super nice, however, I'm not sure it's worth the pain in their cases since they were already loaded and not in need of money lol.
Long story short it wasn't as fun as I would have hoped.
