Unlocked Items Don't Transfer?

The locked items are not a reward to the player, per se. They are a reward to the Sim who accomplished a certain level of achievement. If you go to play another household, the items are locked for that household because no Sim there has earned them. Likewise, if the Sim who earned them dies, their rewards relock for their household.
I personally do not have any problem with that and do see it as comparable to locked career rewards in earlier games, but I know that others do not view it this way. I know there is a cheat code that will unlock all the items, but don't know what it is off the top of my head. Searching the forum may help.
I can understand the frustration, to a certain extent. I had a mod for Sims 2 that allowed for buyable career rewards, and I used it to put those rewards on community lots. However, it broke with Freetime and the maker was never able to update it, leaving me with a big sad.
