As the title suggests, I'm curious to know how long it takes Elders to die once their age bar is maxed out and starts to glow white.For some context, I'm playing with Bella Goth and don't want her to die as I want to have a sim max out all skills and aspirations. I've used the potion of youth about 3 times, and last I checked before the bar was maxed, it said she was in ~130 days. It's been like that for a good week or so (maybe more) and she isn't dying.I do have death flowers in her inventory so I'm not worried about her dying permanently, but I am worried she may die when I travel with another Sim to another lot and not use the death flowers in her inventory.She has the fitness aspiration complete which I know extends their life, I'm just wondering if she will ever actually die and reset, or if it will stay in the glowing white phase forever.

I'm not sure of the exact numbers (plus it varies depending your lifespan settings), but if I'm not mistaken it's a range. Like, once they hit a certain point they have a chance to die each consecutive day of life, with there being a maximum that they will always die upon reaching. I don't remember what the range is, but I think that's how it works.

So the long lived trait is going to make it hard to know because it adds a random number of days onto the end of their natural lifespan.

I don’t think sims can use the flowers for themselves, another sim has to offer it to the Reaper in this game.

I have death flowers in my gallery if you may need them ;)

It’s around 10 days from the age into elder.

Other traits etc will effect it tho. Healthier sims will live longer etc. but it’s roughly 10 days. I’ve counted many times lol

Edit: it may have changed since Growing Together, I know they changed the age ranges a bit.

If you are not afraid to use cheat codes, I suggest putting cas.fulleditmode on, then aging Bella down to Adult.

I personally use MCC for aging. Got annoyed with insta-deaths. I think I have elders set to 300 days. Otherwise, without a mod it is something like 10 days for "long life"? Then the possibility of slightly living longer a day or two.

As much as it freaked people out, I guess that's why TS1 had those creepy phone calls about getting your affairs in order! :D

Hopefully, the rest of my life. LOL Sorry, I couldn't resist. As for how long Elders last in the game, it all depends on how active and fit they are. I had one Elder who was 103, I believe it was before she finally kicked the bucket. Also, with all the changes in the number of days per category, it's hard to know.

The latest numbers are so:
Short: 7 days
Normal: 14 days
Long: 56 days

Though what these lists leave out is variance. Every life stage can be either a little longer or a little shorter for each sim. Thus it won't usually be exactly 14 days. And long lived trait, even though the aging bar won't be affected, will allow your sim to live longer.

Update!

She finally died while at work not even 24 hours after witnessing her youngest daughter (Sonya) pass away of old age at 130 days.

Luckily her grandson was able to use the Death Flower on the Grim Reaper. I didn't realize that it doesn't reset their age bar, it keeps it in the white glowing phase.

I had to use a youth potion to reset it... she's 190! Still kicking (once again!) and back to her goal of maxing all skills. Until next time Grim Reaper!
