Update Ideas for Lot Types? (e.g. Bubble tea counter v espresso bar)

Hi everyone,

While trying to build a bunch of combined venues in one, I realized that it'd be nice if EA considered updating some of the lot type requirements to be able to incorporate other types into them.  Also, this would be nice for more flexibility because if you put two bars in a lot type, only one will ever get filled and you'd have to manually hire someone else. So far, Restaurant type lots are the only ones who can have the most multiple staff (the waiter/waitresses, cook, host, and bartender).  And for the random food or vendor stalls, those only fill one at a certain lots or only on the non lot stalls.

For example, Get Together Pack introduced the Cafe type lot, which requires an espresso bar, espresso machine, espresso grinder, etc. What if I wanted to substitute a bubble tea counter in so bubble tea and espresso both could be served?  I'm not sure how the programming would work though. I think the order functions might be linked to the espresso bar, so there would be need to be reprogramming to allow the bubble tea counter to be able to order espresso.

What do you think?

  • You could set the place to work as both cafe and bubble tea shop and then change the lot type depending on what you want to order.

  • Some features are already cross-venue but don't advertise it. Bars and Lounges can have bowling alleys for example- and bowling groups will still spawn and everything! And you can get Yoga classes going in Parks and Rec Centers. I have a full explanation series of venues and what they can do for more information.

Ideally they'd make this how it works for most things for most venues in general, where it would make sense. The bubble tea counter being exclusive to...a thrift store...a venue which makes so little sense to begin with...really is shortsighted, but I think that's more a problem with High School Years' development being really poorly thought out in general. The whole pack is drowning in half-baked features.

The bubble tea counter works very nicely with the community space lots as well so you could technically make a bubble tea shop without the thrift store attached to it.

Ohh... I haven't tested much with community lots. I did try to shove a ton of food stalls onto one before and found out the hard way that they don't populate and need vendors hired manually lol.  Oh snap, just realized Bar type lot lets bubble tea counter be a bar :)

Oh, wow I did n't know it was intentionally creating bowling teams. I thought people just rando showed up and tried things LOL.  I don't have the newest expansion packs yet so I can't test out the random classes/teaching features.  Thanks for the link~

:( on High School Years' pack.

I think the limit is for one or two food vendors and 3 sales tables on community space lots. If you stick to the limits they work wonderfully. There's mods you can use if you want to have vendors show up for all the stalls you add to the lot.

Ah.. I'll have to try that out on the community lot then. :) I try to play the game mod free, so mods aren't an option for me.
