using the same world for every save?

I personally dislike replacing new lots of my preference every time I start a new save....especially filling up all of Newcrest and adding different community lots. I like the world i'm using now but I want to start over. Has anyone just deleted all the sims and filled up their existing world with a whole new crop of sims? That way I still have all my builds/lots the way I want. How does this affect specific sims like the Spellcaster sages or Father Winter or Agnes Crumplebottom? Do they repopulate?

  • deleting special NPCs like them just creates random sims to replace them e.g. still have Father Winter but it's not Clement Frost

    I think only way to truly fresh save is really to just create new one and add all builds to gallery and start yeeting them back in

    though its gonna be pain if you had all worlds worth of lots there (despite the rumors of lacking lots boy is it lot of lots)

    ways ive seen people do it easier is that they made separate save with just builds and then they create new save off it when they start playing and don't mess with the original save but for that yeah required to have clean copy in first place :sweat_smile:

    personally I've been on "build all worlds" mode for a while so i have separate save when i complete some things to add them in that save but ive yet to really use it cause i just really fancy my current gameplay save with all the overly complicated story ive made
  • You can create an ur-save by putting your builds in your library, creating a new game, placing your builds the way you want them, and then save that game with its own name. Just the one time. This is now your ur-save.
    Then every time you want to start up a new game, load the ur-save, immediately make a copy with its own name, and play the copy.
    (I think this is what @Simmingal means by "clean copy" too)

    No, I have only one save.
    I'm usually playing premade townies because I'm too lazy to create a sim (but working very hard to change their clothes & make-up in CAS)
    ...and I don't want to spend so much time in building

    I actually just finished doing this. I replaced every lot in my world with something way nicer from the gallery, put in a mix of gallery NPC’s I’ve saved up and my own sims from my other saves as «background» people. I did leave the special NPC’s since I don’t trust my game to produce actually nice looking replacements, but I gave them small makeovers.

    Try saving as. then you can try changing or deleting etc. and still have your original save in case it all goes wrong.

    That's what I do! I have one master "Saved As" file that I update every so often with new patches and packs. Sometimes, if it's a really drastic change, I will have to go through and remake this base file of sorts. But I remove and replace all the lots I want and go from there :lol;
