For me I would have preffered hotels but I also really wanted to be able to create rental lots everywhere because it really gives you the freedom to create so many different styles. For example I want to make a really modern rental house in the heart of San Myshuno for my rich CEO sims to go for business. I want to make a rental home in the isolated area of Windenburg for winter vacationing. Maybe a "haunted" rental in the middle of Forgotten Hollow, where only the bravest Sims go etc.
I know at first it sounds like a useless feature so why not make rental lots available just in Sulani but I think since this is supposed to be a sandbox game, it was a great idea to give us the freedom to place them anywhere. Nothing is ever useless in Sandbox, you never know what creative players could come up with. :smiley:
