This is what I plan to do with pre-existing sims: -
in my library, I put them into CAS, give them a sibling (a room mate would have no friendship built with them so it might not work, and they might already have a partner)
make sure that sibling's a vamp.
move the family somewhere
ask the vamp sibling to turn them
then, if so desired, move out and manually cull the sibling. (To me the vamp sibling is just a prop to get the sims I want as vamps to be vamps without having to make new friends.)
i just check, and yes we can create them like aliens in Get to work.
