Is anyone else having the issue where a friend will come over to your house and just. never. leave. It's so annoying! The "Ask to Leave" interaction isn't even available. I've tried luring them outside and locking the door, but they just hang around my property. How do I get them to leave?!

Yes... :( it can be quite annoying - which is why I use the MC Controller mod, which I have found to be invaluable :)

Yes, they do. It's like having a roommate that I didn't ask for! I have found that leaving the lot with the visitor and then returning without them is helpful. But they do come back eventually...I just have my doors locked for everyone but household members.

It happens on occasion, for me most often in the form of getting stuck in an endless chess game even though according to the game "this sim is leaving." Easy fix though; activate cheats ("testingcheats on") shift-click on the sim, and select "reset object (debug)". They should reset and go on their way, most likely waddling from low bladder need depending on how long they've been stuck ;) It's a good idea to turn off cheats after you're done, just in case ("testingcheats off") Hope that helps!

I had to stop playing my 100 baby challenge because of this. The baby daddies would come in uninvited and never leave. Can you imagine having 20 (or more) baby daddies hanging around? I was annoyed with two so I put a stop to that and will come back once it's fixed. For a while I found that adding them to my group brought up the option to ask to leave but that only works sometimes. Then I was using MC Command but got tired of fighting with it every day. Even if they don't like you they still come around.

I had this happen the other day, but it was with a Sim's ex-lover (he was wooing two women at once, got both knocked up twice, then married the first one I went after). He'd claimed his two kids from her, so for my story I imagined that she had basically invited herself in with the expectation that if she stayed long enough she'd be invited to move in so she could be with her kids. They barely had enough space for the family to sleep, though, and I got sick of her taking a spot on the double bed so neither of my adult sims could sleep in it. I had the ex-lovers fight and fight and fight some more, then had the wife start arguing with her, then the kids... Nothing. Eventually the wife took her to the park and abandoned her there.I no longer invite that particular sim into the house EVER.

Ah, not just me then. I have been absent from the game for a while and I have been unable to find the interaction. Very annoying. I have taken to leaving the lot and returning.

I'm having this issue also! They also just waltz right into my sims home without being invited in.

I often have the opposite problem; I'll invite them in, and they'll just stand there, talking to my sim through the closed front door. :D

Amongst the other issues, having some visitors leave my household and instead just stand there has been a big issue.

I'm not happy with the welcome wagon, either. It used to be in the Sims 1 and I just don't remember it being so obnoxious. I think it's because our Sims get penalized if they stay inside getting settled in instead of socializing with them. (That is, the welcome folks go away mad and you go in the red for relationship points).

Back to the other - I also find that visiting Sims just don't have a clue what visiting etiquette is. Some of them stay there until the wee hours of the morning. When I use "Ask to Leave" the visitor(s) always act so hurt and offended. :(

Thanks for adding even more temptation, ModerateOsprey - LOL - the MCCC mod is definitely the one I have picked for my first choice to add. My planned-on year is getting shorter much faster. :smiley:

No worries. I just spent a long time trying to find MCCC on MTS - and I can't find it either because I can't remember the real words for parts of the anagram. I wanted to subscribe to it so I can monitor how updates do vs patches and other game expansions, etc.

If you have City Living, put the Private Dwelling lot designation on your home lot; that takes care of random visitors showing up. (I had Eliza Pancakes at my house almost every day before I put that lot trait on the house; now the only person who comes over is my Sim's young adult daughter and she calls first anyway.)

MCCC is MC Command Center; if you search for MC Command it should be the first result that pops up.
