Washer not working

I have noticed sometimes the washer will glitch but usually when I click a second time it works. I would also make sure there are no shelves or anything on a wall near it.

If you don’t have hampers in your home, try adding them and see if that helps.
Try having your sims travel to another lot. Then have them travel back home again and see if the issue remains.
Test a washer with another sims household in the game, and see if there are issues with that household/lot also,

Do you have clean clothes going into you're laundry hamper? This is a confirmed bug mentioned from the gurus.
Is there a shelf above the washer and dryer? Another confirmed bug.

Workarounds until we get a fix
Delete Hamper and replace with new hamper

Remove shelf over washing machine.
