Water Builds

Today, I made my first attempt at building on water. It's in the style of an old log cabin/eco-home, which blends in with the surrounding forestry. I had to use the fountain tool, which took forever because I made a lot of mistakes because I couldn't work out how to place decks on the water. So, I resorted to building a lower floor first, then a upper floor then I deleted the lower floor. Then I had to re-draw the fountain around the building because it vanished!

I used A LOT of rocks, trees, and foliage to hide the edges of the fountain, but I had to use a cheat in order to do this properly so no spaces were left exposed. It took about 6 hours to complete, so here it is. It's on the gallery as: Eco Lake House. However, the rooms are too, because they are hard to see, so you can view those too (Metzfits1984).

Due to having to zoom out, some of the foliage cannot be seen, so there are spaces present in the image.

    Looks nice
  • Eco Lake House is very nice! :) It looks great how you have built it on water. The plants, flowers and rocks look very nice on the edges of the water. The greenery covered walls gives a great look to the home, and the flower balcony windows are a nice touch.
You have designed and built the home very well :)

Looking good and well worth the effort! Fountain tool?

You'll find it in build mode. You click on the large image of a fountain; it's near the image of the tree, and the tool(s) come up. A few of my builds are quite wacky to say the least lol I've based one on a mushroom :D

After playing with Jessica Starling, who is my Super Sim, for a few hours, I took a "break" and built this next to her castle: Starling Castle. It suits her; she's a very gothic sim and loves music and wears what she likes. I hope EA bring out the new patch soon, apparently it includes terrain Editing; I really hope there is a pond tool in there too!

This is Willow Castle. Jessica's castle is way bigger, but doesn't have a moat...sadly lol

  • Thank you! I always thought that was just to place premade fountains. Have to check it out next time I'm in. Very nice work indeed.

Nope, there is a tool that has lines with dots on it. You make your first point then draw the shape you want using more points by dragging and clicking until you get back to your first point. That is what I used. You can only do lines though, no curves, sadly. I'm a scientist by trade, but one with a qualification in art, so when I start going into build mode, my creative side just takes over...see? Wacky or what? lol

Which one? The Eco Lake House or Willow Castle with the moat?
