We Need A Club Icons and Activity Update/Tune Up

I love the club system. I think it adds a great level of depth and serendipity to the game, but it is hampered by the lack of club icons and a lack of new activities from some packs (i.e paranormal stuff).

Between thought bubble icons and other UI elements, there are thousands of icons in the Sims 4. It would be amazing to have some, or all of these, unlocked for use as club icons. An update to the icons in a patch would be fantastic, and it would also be fitting to have new icons added into the club system with every pack alongside any new actions and club requirements. It's also worth noting that this shouldn't require that any new icons necessarily have matching swatches for all of the club reward items. Having more choices for the icon that shows up in the UI and above sims heads during gatherings is of much more consequence. The current offering is rather lacking.

Regarding activities, the most obvious omission is a "use seance table" activity. There are a few other less obvious ones that I may write in a bit later, and I'll also be happy to write in any others pointed out to me by other simmers.

This system will be six years old this December. I always appreciate the addition of new activities that come with most packs, but I think this system desperately needs an update and tune-up/rebalancing. Please show the club system some love EA. Don't let one of your best ideas wither away on the backburner.

I third that. As we get more hobby type activities there is more capacity for new clubs. They should include those types of icons

I agree. Different unique clubs shouldn't be forced to share the same icon. It would be cool if we could change the icon colors, or even create our own icon in game. And while we're discussing clubs, they really need to add an option to restrict membership by gender.

When they released Get Together they touted that they could easily add club interactions and icons as new packs were added so that this pk would carry through the game making it more "valuable" only they don't update the club system and when asked about it claim they forgot or didn't have the space or thought we could use the ones we have already.

That's one of the biggest gripes I have is that they don't make packs in a way that allows players to interact with other packs as they promised we would be able to do. More EA lie.

In my vision of the Sims I have always thought that Expansion features and Game Pack features should be at their core expandable. That features and designs of new things should always come with things that are unlocked by old packs.

For example if you have Get Together and you bought the Knitting Pack, boom Knitting Circle as a club along Club Icon and features that bonus or enhanced knitting as a skill.

Or if you have Dining Out and you purchased a Vacation themed Game Pack that featured India then presto change-o you had things to make a snazzy and functional Indian Restaurant including decor, music, recipes and new uniform choices.

Or if we got an Expansion which devoted itself to new and interesting ways to spend the $$$ that some of our Sims have accumulated. Lets say it introduced Hair & Nail Salons, a few ritzy spa services like a gold leaf facial and a facial and body wrap station could be unlocked for Spa Day.

A China vacation zone could unlock Ear Cleaning, Tai-Chi, Acupuncture and Cupping if you have Spa Day. If you have Dining Out a Chinese Restaurant could be made with far more Chinese decor, a Chinese radio station, recipes and new uniforms. Seasons could make a China Zone more magical. Having Cats & Dogs could unlock wild NPC Pandas and it in turn would update wild animals to be their own breed of animal not just another Dog or Cat.

If they were looking to drop a Holiday Update with new Halloween things for example and you had Luxury Party Stuff the Buffet tables could have new tablecloths to match the Season. Same goes for Snowflake Day, Love Day, and toss in Easter and St. Patty's styles. The Fountain of Mirth which is a Punch bowl/chocolate fountain could get Christmas update with Egg Nog and Halloween with a much that has the smokey dry effect. This is not to suggest that this be the only thing made for a Halloween of Christmas Update to the exclusion of anyone without the pack the intention is that it be one of the things up for offer. My humble suggestion would be the update Item offered for everyone would be an Apple Bobbing Bucket and little mounted flags with holiday pictures on them and the Unlock would be the new punch and the table cloths.
  • @EA_Rtas Can you please move this thread to feedback? Thank you again, I wasn't aware of the different forum channels when I made these original posts. :D

I agree. That's how it should be. Unfortunately, they forget to carry things through so we get a bunch of packs that don't (can't) relate to each other. Clubs especially should be followed up on and added into any and every pack with icons and doors and rules but they have failed at that and don't seem to give a poo.

I agree entirely. The more systems they add, the more I become concerned that previous ones will fall into disrepair, get buggy, not get updated, etc. Don't get me wrong, I love most of the new systems being added (sentiments, likes & dislikes), but I just worry about follow-through and cross-pack functionality down the line

Get Together was one of the best packs but it feels outdated now with all the new activities added and no club icons to show it. They really should go back and start fixing older packs like Get Together and Get to Work seriously what was the point of that survey about which older pack do we want to see updated nothing has come of it.
