You know we can see you're an EA employee, right?
I'm not sure what you were trying to achieve with that comment @DeservedCriticism. It's fairly obvious that we do work for EA as all of our names start with "EA". Would you care to elaborate? As it currently stands it's coming off that you're implying we can't enjoy the Sims which is an odd stance to have.
Might come as shock but we're gamers and all huge fans of the Sims and the Sims community. We tend to buy products we like. I personally have a huge League of Legends figurine collection ^^ They are just too cute! @EA_Mage has so much Sims memorabilia it's crazy :D. @EA_Leeloo is just as bad and don't get me started on @EA_Spectre and @EA_Mai
I'm not doubting EA employees can enjoy the game too, but regardless of what the actual intent is behind the posts, when two EA employees are on page one of a thread announcing new EA merchandise (don't think I've ever seen two on one page before) and both are implying the stuff looks AMAZING and they can't wait to buy it, then all that comes to mind for me is:

Let me word this another way: Do you think it doesn't happen that companies tell their employees to plug new products on public forums? I can tell you right now it does because my company asked me to do exactly that when they released a new product line. Granted, I hate dishonesty, so I only plugged the two products I personally found to be especially good, but would I have written a review for them on my own accord...? Never, I did it because I was asked to. And yes, if I tell my friends this product my company sells is super, I expect them to be skeptical and to second-guess my intentions. I wouldn't take it personal, I'd think they're being logical.
Your situation may be similar to mine, it may be completely of your own accord, and it might be something you felt forced to do. I don't know, I admit I don't know, but yeah I'm also gonna second-guess those posts. I think it'd be naive of me if I didn't. In that regard we just have to agree to disagree.
What I can comment on is that yes, I get a "Hello Fellow Kids" vibe from such posts and I'm sure I'm not alone. Whether that bothers you all or not, that's up to you. You're well within your rights to make such posts regardless. I'm not hoping to stop them or something. All I'm hoping to achieve here is explain my perspective, and my perspective is it's off-putting.
Ah ok, so it was an insinuation that EA_Mage was plugging merch. I guess we're lucky our company doesn't make that request of us :) That's not our job thankfully. We're here strictly to moderate and engage on the forums for the health of the community but as gamers and fans we like to nerd out aswell by talking with the community.
Your comment would be dissuade us from ever joining in conversations. To me it read as intentionally rude and disruptive but thank you for clarifying. Noted @DeservedCriticism
Hey you're welcome to do whatever you want, I'm just saying people are gonna interpret it a certain way. If you don't care and post anyways, good for you. And by all means join conversations cause I think it makes for a nice community employees engage with fans, I just find it an odd coincidence that this topic is where I suddenly find three EA employees wanting to chat about it. I mean you said yourself you and others enjoy the game. The game itself is discussed around the clock and all of you are free to join in on any discussion of the game, yet it was this one regarding merchandise where the EA employee participation spiked, and yeah, it looks odd.
