- Yeah, can't download an outside patio from the gallery without it being placed on a foundation. If I delete the floor, everything that was on it goes away.
- This would be helpful
- This is definitely a problem that should have been addressed.
- Not just garage or shed etc. I can't build an Italian villa because in some parts of the lot, there would be an arch on the ground which you enter, to enter and go through an inner door, but on a different section of the building it would have steps up to a foundation with a door to enter there,.....it's one reason I revisit TS2 often, because I can dream almost anything there. Some parts of a building would have a porch or slab, with circular set of steps or not, and some of the building would have ground level entrances. I build what I see from other games sometimes, or paintings etc., or real life buildings, so it's a huge limitation to not be able to do this. :/
- It would be much better if foundations were attached to specific rooms, rather than the entire lot, although I suspect that this may not be possible and that, even if it were, introducing such a change at this stage would mess up our existing builds. I would love to be wrong, but I don't hold out much hope.
I love the different wall heights, but I wish we could use different wall heights for different rooms/buildings/sections of a house on the same level. It would make buildings look much more realistic. We used to be able to create this effect in Sims 3, by using different foundation heights and/or by adding a "frieze" layer on top of some rooms, although It was an unwieldy method and it was impossible to make adjacent rooms with different foundation heights, unless you used complicated cheats (which often ended up making your walls look weird anyway). A lot of us complained about this at the time and I really thought it would be one of the things that would be addressed in the next iteration of the game. - This has been one of the biggest complaints from TS4 since launch and it is one of those things that I don't think will be amended.
Very harsh limitations though :(
:disappointed: - ehaught58New NoviceAll of these things people wish we had and hope it will come out in the next iteration of the game, let me just say this ... isn’t that what we were saying and doing in the Sims 3 waiting for the Sims 4? And look at what we got!!!
- This would be brilliant! I'd love to have this feature in the game. I think it'd be really useful for future builds.
- SerraNolwenNew RookieI definitely agree with this. I like being able to add foundations after the fact. I remember hating figuring out the shape of the house while building foundations in Sims 3, because I just couldn't picture everything based on that. Still, I wish we could have an option to disable entire lot foundations and make it per room instead. I think that could work. Basically, all the builds we have so far would be considered to work with the default "entire lot foundations," so they wouldn't change, but in future builds, we would have the ability to check off that option and change specific rooms. I really hope they add that in somehow. Don't know how hard it could be to code, but I suspect it wouldn't be that hard.
- DeKaythePUNKSeasoned VanguardYes! I think it will make it easier to have really cool builds if separate foundations or even different wall heights.
