It would be much better if foundations were attached to specific rooms, rather than the entire lot, although I suspect that this may not be possible and that, even if it were, introducing such a change at this stage would mess up our existing builds. I would love to be wrong, but I don't hold out much hope.
I love the different wall heights, but I wish we could use different wall heights for different rooms/buildings/sections of a house on the same level. It would make buildings look much more realistic. We used to be able to create this effect in Sims 3, by using different foundation heights and/or by adding a "frieze" layer on top of some rooms, although It was an unwieldy method and it was impossible to make adjacent rooms with different foundation heights, unless you used complicated cheats (which often ended up making your walls look weird anyway). A lot of us complained about this at the time and I really thought it would be one of the things that would be addressed in the next iteration of the game.
We need indoor platforms again, such as they gave us in Sims2. I can't possibly duplicate a house my best friend once owned the way things are now. You entered going up a mere two steps to a hallway/foyer. From there you went through an arch on the left to the bathroom and two bedrooms on either side at the end of said hall. Then, turning right, you stepped down into the livingroom. Stepped up to the dining room and another bedroom off of this. Straight through to the kitchen. Then stepped down to the laundry room and back door. It was a darling house.
