Weather Woes

I have resisted the desire to toggle off rain/thunderstorms for a long time. I was afraid it would make the game more like the Endless Summer we get without Seasons. However, my Sim just can't get outside to tend to their garden. Weeds and bugs abound! They live in HoB, for one, and it seems to rain nearly all of the time. My Sim, a Rock Star, had a concert and a photoshoot to get to. He got struck by lightning in between events, so now he's dazed, besides a crispy Sim. It's been pouring in my game. I'm very tempted to turn rain/thunderstorms off, at least for a bit to see what happens.

Has anyone else gone ahead and toggled off rain/thunderstorms, at least?

Would be nice if you could simply train your Sims to not have anxiety in these weather conditions. ?

Hard to train him when he's actually been STRUCK by lightning, you know. LOL

Besides, I'm using a mod to eliminate the fears altogether.

ETA: I'm only upset because the nearly constant rain keeps my Sims from really getting their garden taken care of. It defeats the purpose if the weeds grow for all of the rain (just as in RL) but that there are very few days when it's not raining. Who can even swim in that? It's just flat out too much rain.

@GalacticGal you can always buy the weather machine. That will let you temporarily change the weather from rainy to sunny for a bit without having to turn off rain/thunder in game options. Though I think the available options depends on handiness level (?).

Yes, I have had my Sims use that in the past. But, then the weather just goes right back to where it was. I think I'll give the MCCC mailbox cheats a try. Right now I've got rain and thunderstorms toggled off.
  • A few of my Sims have the aspiration reward "Storm Chaser". They love thunderstorms. Getting hit by lightning makes them energized, but they're still all crispy on the outside.

I'm glad I saw this thread, it reminded me that I can go into the game controls and shut off the thunderstorms, etc. I'm wondering how much of a change there will be. I play Vanilla, so MCCC isn't an option, although it is sounding more and more interesting ( :# oh, what a mess my files would be in if I started downloading mods and CC). I am sick and tired of my sims running around in a panic all the time due to lightning and the constant rain in Willow Creek and HOB is annoying.

I will miss the occasional lightning strike, but in my game it has become all too frequent.

Same here. Rains nearly every day, even in summer.
