Get the LATEST version of carl's wedding fixes. Optional, I haven't tested it: bienchen updated some mods on the official sims forum's broken mods thread and made one that adjusts wedding behavior.
To cut cakes, you have to TAKE THE CAKE TOPPER OFF FIRST.
Walk down the aisle only fulfills when a sim selects the walk down interaction, sending them down alone. Send two hasn't been working for me in that the animation plays, but it does not list as complete.
Do NOT use wedding venues that have more than 1 arch.
First dance needs space. Make sure you have enough space.
DO NOT USE THE CALENDAR WITH CARL'S MOD EXCEPT IN THIS WAY: The game has multiple broken duplicate wedding events and gets confused which one is happening. When you plan with the calendar with the latest versions, the one at the top should be the right one, but to be safe, use the phone, which starts the wedding instantly. Here's how you set your parameters for the wedding: it turns out any engaged sim has access to all of the wedding planning interactions regardless of whether you intend to have a wedding or not. So before you ever enter the menu, go around asking who you want to fill all those roles and get your cake, bouquet etc. Make sure the cake is the last thing you do. Use the calendar to mark when you want your wedding and then when the time comes, cancel it, use the phone, and assign everything you want to.
When in doubt, turn free will off. As an extreme measure, add the people to your household temporarily to ensure they don't do stupid things. (I haven't had to do this with carl's mod, but I always have it as an idea for a last resort.)
As of right now, you can't make wedding venues in Newcrest for some reason and you can't call off the wedding once its' in progress with the arch anymore, so make sure you want your sims to be married! Alas we were deprived of a source of drama.
For the other events, the "let's" interaction is basically broken. Use the group system to get people to do things instead. Groups are the way to go.
To toss bouquet you have to click on the BOUQUET for the toss to interaction.
Only a single sim can walk down the aisle while holding the bouquet. Trying to send two sims, especially with Carl's mod, can break the aisle object completely.
I don't exactly know what counts as a dessert for the eat desserts for the other events.
In my experience, wedding ceremonies will last like all day unless you cancel it early, no matter how quickly you complete all the tasks. (I don't know where people are getting the 6 hour block from? @Stormkeep you mentioned it in another thread, can you elaborate? I know the other parties last 6 hours, but the code for wedding ceremonies has a duration of 24 hours.)
