- I realise that this thread is kind of old but just in case anyone does come here with the same problem...
It appears that wedding venues are not limited by lot type but are limited to specific lots. So you can build your own wedding venue but you need to build it (or download it from the gallery and place it) one a specific lot.
As of Eco Living, wedding venues are limited to the following specific lots:
- Residential lots of bride/groom and invite guests
- Museums
Municipal Muses
Plumbob Pictures Museum
Deadgrass Discoveries
The Futures Past
- Parks
Magnolia Blossom
Hare Square
Pupperstone Park
Desert Bloom
- Bars
The Caboose
The Sand Bar
Elixirs and Brews
The Shrieking Llama
Old Quarter Inn
Salty Paws Saloon
Pepper’s Pub
8 Bells
Rattlesnake Juice
- Nightclubs
The Blue Velvet
Discotheque Pan Europa
The Narwhal Arms
- Lounges
Stargazer Lounge
Studio PBP
Orchid A Go Go
Club Calico
The Solar Flare
- Chalet Gardens
Van Haunt Estate
- Cafes
Hare and Hedgehog
South Square Coffee
- Pools
Bathe de Rill
- Ancient Ruins
Ancient Ruins
- Island Bluffs
The Bluffs
- Centre Parks
Myshuno Meadows
- Beaches
Ohan’ali Beach
Sand Simoleon Beach
- Community Spaces
The Waterfront
The Quarry Building
Sprucewood Square
I had built a church and couldn't get it to work but when I placed it over the Municipal Muses lot it suddenly worked. And it was set as a Generic lot. Why did EA choose to configure the game this way? Who knows. But it does mean it is possible to create your own custom wedding venues or download venues created by others from the Gallery and have them actually work. - > @Garrod said:

Okay, so it appears I was only partly correct. You can set your lot as a Park, etc and have it work as a wedding venue on any lot. But if you want it to work as a Generic lot it needs to have been a Park, etc first and then changed to Generic. Setting it as a Park, Museum, etc must tag the lot somehow so that it's enabled as a wedding venue and changing it back to Generic doesn't untag it. I assume this is a bug. But it means there's a workaround. Either build on an existing Park, Museum, etc or set your custom-built or downloaded wedding venue to a Park, Museum, etc (you'll need to meet the requirements of a Park, Museum, etc) and then change it back to Generic (after which you can delete all the unwanted Park, Museum, etc items). - > @Garrod said:

And a further update: It appears that while you can successfully hold a wedding at a generic lot that has just been changed from a Park, Museum, etc, the game will quickly forget that the lot can hold a wedding. So to have a wedding venue as a genric lot you need to change it to a Park, Museum, etc and then change it to Generic any time you want to hold a wedding there. So it's probably easier to just set it as a Park and be done with it. - EA_RtasCommunity ManagerHey there, split this off into another thread so it wasn't necro posting another.
