Weight of the world ice cream? I haven't seen that in Cool Kitchen Stuff
It's one of the ice cream options on the ice cream machine that came with that pack; however, I think it might only show up with higher level cooking skill. Which would explain why one of my chef sims is the one I most often see putting on weight faster than most of the other sims when I'm not playing her household.
That being said, I don't consider it a problem at all. She and her husband are a cute, chubby, loving couple, and I don't suddenly freak out when they gain weight. Fat people exist in the real world; fat sims exist in my game. I like my game to look like the real world: there are sims of all races, genders, and orientations; single sims, gay couples, interracial families, trans sims, sims of all ages and family compositions, and yeah, body diversity as well.
If there's a particular sim I have in mind as an athletic sim, or fit or thin for some storytelling reason, it takes five seconds to change them back in CAS. Or if they are trying to lose weight or get in shape for some specific storytelling reason (e.g., controlling spouse wants them to lose weight, they want to get on the soccer team, etc.), then it's just salads and the gym and yoga for a while. Otherwise, shrug.
Just to confirm/reiterate, it's absolutely not a problem for Sims to gain weight, or to have Sims of various sizes in the game. Normal rates of weight gain are factored into gameplay/storyline ideas, as are Sims who autonomously meet a love interest who is on the plus size of the scale (one of my Sims currently seems very interested in a San Myshuno townie who is gorgeously curvy). The issue for me is just the rapid change in weight, it seemed strange, so I just wondered if anyone else was experiencing the same thing.
Looking at your pictures, I think I have a little bit of a guess as to what's happening. It doesn't appear to me that they've gained that much weight overall. In other words, I would bet the slider's not actually that far off from where it started. It could be bugged as well, but it mostly looks to me like you created sims with a very high hip to waist to chest ratio... i.e., a very hourglass figure, with curvy hips and a tiny waist. So when the weight increases by any amount, it's going to show up in a much more obvious way more quickly than it might on a sim with a different figure type, because the hips look so much larger. Otherwise, it might be a bit fast, but the waist size looks very average, not large at all. In my experience, small changes on the slider look more noticeable more quickly if you have the wider hips. Which can be accentuated even further by certain wardrobe choices.
ETA: wasn't trying to call you out specifically, your game could very well be bugged. I have just seen so many posts on the forum where other people are freaking out, like "OH NOES MY SIM IS FAT NOW."
