Am I the only one that likes the welocme wagon? lol
I want my sims to know their neighbours, it's quite realistic don't you think? And I don't want to go to each of their house seperately and go through the loading screen to meet them..
Realistic? Maybe. When I bought my house a few years ago, I had the lady next door come up to the fence and wag her finger back and forth between me and my mother who was helping me move some things in and say, "Alright, which one of you is my new neighbor."
There were no fruitcakes given, so at least one bullet was dodged that day. - Simberella8 years agoSeasoned VeteranI don't really care much for the regular neighborhood 'welcome wagon', but the worst are the ones in the apartments. It seems to give them free reign anytime thereafter to enter the apartment whenever they please without an invite.
I did really enjoy the 'welcome wagon' when my vampires were in Forgotten Hollows. Only Caleb came, without a fruitcake. He talked with both Mom and Dad and taught them vampire powers. Their toddler babbled with him and later, when she cried, he comforted her.
When my Sim Dad asked him to spar, Caleb went outside to do so. That's when I figured out he was a daywalker. My Sim couldn't stay outside but also couldn't convince Caleb to come back in. Caleb left shortly thereafter with a message that they were a "Welcome addition to the neighborhood' and they've been friends ever since. It was fun! - After I moved my Sim to San Myshuno, I moved out the old couple in the apartment next door and moved in the Sims I wanted him to communicate with. I didn't realize the sims in the building next door would be part of the welcome wagon. So I moved them out and put in Sim I wanted him to have connections with in there as well.

Actually you can. I've cleared all my neighborhoods, including San Myshuno, of every unplayed household & gave all my played homes the private dwelling lot trait. Haven't seen a Welcome Wagon since. And the neighbors are still around, you still run into them in the park & stuff. - Jaline338 years agoNew HotshotThe biggest problem in my game is that out of the Welcome Wagon group there is usually always 1 Sim in there that belongs to another played family that my Sim used to be friends with . . . until the glitch where friendships were culled. So, to re-build friendships my Sim invites the whole group in just to become re-acquainted with the one "old friend" they had before the friendships were wiped out. I wish there were some kind of pre-warning, though - like a notification that says, "The Welcome Wagon will be stopping in sometime between now and noon". That way my Sims won't get caught at such a bad time. Sometimes it feels like this game assumes that my Sims are just sitting around waiting for something to react to. My Sims are *busy* - they (and I) need a "heads-up", please!

On a serious note - Who actually EATS that stuff? Trust me - it's gonna take more than a little red ribbon to even make it look good!
I do, in real life. I've never had a bad fruit cake before. Are fruit cakes in America bad or something? XD - AshtontoAshton228 years agoSeasoned Ace

I've never even had a fruitcake before and I'm from America. I don't know who started the bad fruitcake stereotype. They treat it more like pound cake. lol.
