Since I have taken the MCCC out and back again, I noticed a lot of the sims have aged up rapidly and all the elders seemed to have died, living some of the animals and younger sims alone when usually they need to have at least one sims who is a teen or young adult (I don't even remember teens can live on their own; but apparently they can now, which is good for the run away teen challenge and story I suppose).
I seem to recall teens could live on their own since I think the City Living patch -- I've played a lot of Teens In The City storylines. I don't have that many elders in game right now (it's a new save where I deleted all the pre-mades) so I haven't noticed yet; I've been slowly going throught Manage Households to give seasonal appropriate clothing to the unplayed households since I finished my three rotationals.
