Were to find my downloaded sims

Hi, I am just trying out sims 4 and today is my last trial day. Will buy just because I have all the other sims. But since new still trying to learn everything and when I go into create a sim I can't find the sims I downloaded. How do I get to them and were are they? It took me a while also to learn that buy catalog was under build, (crazy). Can't wait to have my first toddler as that is the biggest reason I never went for sims 4 at the start. Any way please help and all tips welcome.
