I'll have to get back to you on that, alot of them have potential. So far Juiced community is the only one I've tried. I just went around and turned off sharing is caring in 8 worlds so at least that should stop until next votes lol.

I've done the power generation & self-sufficiency ones & just started modern development. So far they're good & I love how you get influence points by doing things related to the active plan.

It is politics and law

Your sims will get fined if they don’t follow certain plans, such as conserving power, water etc

If they live in a neighborhood where "Sharing is Caring" is enacted, their house will be looted by their friends. I've had my Sims be left with empty rooms! And guess what? When you're playing a household in another neighborhood, then life will go on (no aging ) in the others, and you'll load them to find N.A.Ps voted-for in your absence. So far they're always the awful ones like Sharing is caring. I've had to make one of my Sims create a club for the express purpose of gathering friends for repeal votes. Unfortunately, "Find and Beat Up People Who Voted for Sharing is Caring" is not a club activity I can choose.

I think I'm just going to turn off the voting and have full control over it myself. I don't want some of the options to ever be active in my game.

It seems like there should be an option to disable NAPS altogether, and I won't buy it until it does. Restricting voting to yourself is still going to be annoying. Politics is something I don't want in my game period, even if I have all the votes. I get enough of that in real life.

But in a way you can disable it I believe. Turn off voting. Don't put the community board anywhere in your world. I need to experiment more to be sure but I believe you can pretty much play as if it doesn't exist.

I have played with Foodies Unite, Juiced Community and Self Sufficiency. No major impacts on my neighborhood so far - the only thing I've seen is that the Sims in my household gain influence points when cooking, juicing or being self sufficient. I think my Sim might be gaining the cooking skill quicker as well - but I can't 100% confirm this - she just seems to be gaining the late levels of cooking faster than I remember.

I like the randomness and just a little extra zest it adds to the game to be honest. In Glimmerbrook only one of the NAPs was enacted in before I got enough points to vote but the other three I had complete control over. I found it quite easy earning enough points to out vote the neighborhood to get what I wanted.

My only gripes are how easy it is to earn influence especially if you have a family you can out vote everyone and I wish NAP kind of worked like a neighborhood club system where it changes the behaviors of Sims / Neighborhoods and added bonuses to skill gain or social or something... Like clubs do. All NAPs seem to do is add ways to earn influence... Unless I'm missing something.

Nope doesn't work that way. I'm the only one living in Newcrest. The tech support NAP just passed and I didn't vote. There's no voting board any where in the neighborhood. I have the only lot that has a mailbox and house on it. No other lots have a mailbox or anything on it.

What's interesting is that people outside the neighborhood can support its NAPs or repeals, IF you invite them to your lot. My sim's club for repeal votes, for instance, has people living in Willow Creek, Strangeville, and San Myshuno....but if asked for a repeal vote in Newcrest they can help.


Oh, and just a heads up for people strugglin with the NAPs: if you have testing cheats on, you can shift-click on the mailbox and impose or remove the in-effect naps at will. No more having to wait a week with the doors locked to protect yourself from sharing pirates.

I'm still trying them out. Free love is okay for certain moods and Sims, but I hated it for my current couple. It was enacted before I got around to disabling NPC voting, so it was not by my choice that it was accepted.

I might end up not liking NAPs much at all. Save for those that don't come with a bunch of annoying side effects.
