I love those cozy 20x15 and 20x20 lots since it takes less effort to landscape and I love small/tall builds over chasing my sims across huge lots (probably ts1 thing) but I think it depends where the lot is and what the surroundings are like
because it drives me crazy when lot is on top of hill and there is big empty border you can't build or landscape on
or if there is like very obvious square outline thats bigger than the lot
or when its very special lot like one in Sylvan Glade with no visible reason for lot to be small I would like to see bigger lot to build on since you really only have one Sylvan Glade

30x40 is the best size, but 20x30 can also do. It usually has enough room for a single story house for a few sims with outdoor activities (gardening/greenhouse, chicken coop, swing, telescope,...)
Smaller lots feel a bit cramped unless I add a second level with stairs which I try to avoid. Bigger lots take so much time to build and landscape. Bigger lots are useful for community lots, but I don't need them for residentials

@simgirl1010 <3 your ranch
is it on the gallery one day maybe one of my small time ranchers can afford it before they become an elder

I use 30 X 20 mostly for residential but my main save is my Ranch Legacy. Its on a 64 x 64. Its actually a restart (sigh) but I am still enjoying the work in progress.
I love the night views with all those stars.
