I use community lots heavily in my game. My sims go to community lots just about every sim day.
I replaced all the lots in the Parkside neighborhood with community lots. I have the community center on the 64×64 lot. I put a co-op(marketplace) lot on the 40×20. There is a little pizza cart and playground on that lot as well. On the 40×30 I have a boba shop that works as a teen hangout and pool. On the small lot I have a coffee shop. All lots came from the gallery although the co-op was heavily edited.
The neighborhood with the movie theater, I left the library and rental but will probably eventually replace them. I also put in a splash park and a large family park.
The final neighborhood is the only one I have residential lots in. I have a community pool on one lot and a community garden on another. I replaced the townies with my own families. I don't typically play with the pre-made townies bc I have so many families I'm already playing with.
I really enjoy this world, the more I play in it the more I enjoy it. I'm sorry I can't give you better townie info.
I put a retirement village on a lot close to the walking trails so the retirees can have easy access to powerwalking and fishing. It's an apartment lot I downloaded from the gallery and edited into a combination of studio apartments and common spaces with activities and a common kitchen/dining area. I haven't done anything else there yet because I've been on a break from the game. But I will probably add in more community lots at some point when I get some inspiration.
I lived in SF for 3 years and was super hyped to have an SF themed world. You can imagine my disappointment at seeing the map.
I downloaded lots to replicate the SF experience as best I could. Someone created an "Apple Store" library so I replaced the current library with that one. I used DevonBumpkin's ultra-urban looking Rec Center in the 64x64 lot. I downloaded Plumbob Kingdom's Painted Ladies and added them to a 50x40 lot, unfurnished. Then I added a bunch of park space in front of them to create Alamo Square Park. I even built a lot and I am NOT a builder.
Finally I downloaded a bridge override that makes the bridge red like Golden Gate Bridge. It's in a good place for me right now, but it took a lot of finagling.
• I replaced the rental lot with jazzy restaurant called The Forgotten Lady,
named after the statue from vampires which for some reason is in GrT debug but I can't seem to find it in the world which is very curious indeed
I figured Robleses need some venue to show those piano skills and I also wanted some date/ food venues near the cinema
I also stumbled upon concept art from early days of ts4 which I had been dying to recreate so I figured this is the perfect opportunity
• I replaced the library with rollerskating, boba and bowling kind of venue for some younger sims that might find The Forgotten Lady too sultry but need hangout place near the cinema, I'm planning to include the library items with rec center when i get to it and bowling is more of a when i get bowling pack thing i just left space in basement for it
• Manzanita Terrace got three terraced houses matching those shells in the neighborhood that got the round front but I've yet to do interiors
• Robleses will stay on their original lot I think but I am trying to be inspired to build them new house because existing house is pain to play in (just too big and the rooms layout makes everything take forever)
Gilbert Gardens
• moved Robles Ruano to Hopewell Hills and took their lot for 3 townhouses inspired by ts2 Bellas Belles Townhomes the original lot in ts2 had 4 houses but I just felt with 8 sim household limit 3 houses gives me more options, the insides here too are empty because i have not gotten around to it yet
•parkside place (I believe is lot name) is currently habited by Callia Maebey and Kyle Kyleson (who is just staying over actually) and their twin boys Gilbert and Kenneth
I still have the original house for that lot since I am pondering how I want to build it but Callia is not going to stay there for long
I think Gilbert will move back there though once he is adult since there needs to be Gilbert in Gilbert Gardens
•Celebration way idk what number lot in the middle of two roads is elderly home residential where Michaelson grandpa lives alongside caretaker and some other elderly sim should i make my pick who those other sims are
their families can then visit them there and go do some park stuff too
• rec center stays but I might rebuild it if I had that kind of energy and add that library too
Hopewell Hills
•Sequoia Cottage by lilsimsie was moved on Michaelsons lot and I made that their new house cause i didn't like how big their original house is, I also gave them rocket ship I think they needed one and sizing down on house did leave them with money to spare
•Sequoia Cottage lot was rebuilt and I built a house that vaguely resembles house on the sitcom channel in game Robles-Ruano lives there now
• Luna-Sullivan is on their original lot but I built them new house that better matches the shell houses in that neighborhood I actually really like it because I don't build this style of houses often
•empty lot is still empty lot because i have not been inspired yet but I am thinking smaller 1 floor house cause I've been kind of tired of big houses for a while and this does seem like one of very few lots in this world where it doesn't look out of proportion to build small
and as for stories I'm really just playing premades for most part but to be brief in my explanations there will be lots of death in their future cause I have too many sims
gotta make room for them nooboos n all
I promise to leave at least one sim per household when I am ready though don't worry
and after all that blabber I realize I really should have rather done this in just couple screenshots it would have been much easier but I'm on phone and nowhere near computer atm so
Well let’s just say that I only have my Kyle & his long lost twin sister Kyla live in San Sequoia. To me this world is a meh. ? However it’s not as bad as Magnolia Promenade or Evergreen Harbor.?

seems weird to screenshot since its mostly lilsimsie build but  edits I made https://i.imgur.com/6yVV3yy.png https://i.imgur.com/OwQcYrD.png https://i.imgur.com/v62M5F5.png https://i.imgur.com/I3HXMJV.png and I added basement for grandpa to stay over which I was thinking of doing in that awful HGTV style https://i.imgur.com/DVowvqp.png but for now its like so
whew, still too long in screenshots will add things I don't have on gallery when gallery is back up completely I just don't want to run into any maintenance glitches and you can find links to some of them in my build thread under San Sequoia
oh and while at it, have additional screenshot of Callia running past the elderly home absolutely possessed by her phone https://i.imgur.com/ujVyPhg.png
I uploaded a few screenshots of my San Sequoia, to show how I've worked to turn it into the SF I remember when I lived there.
There's a dive bar, a cafe I built based on "The Mill", an apartment complex, and the "Alamo Square Park" conversion of PlumbobKingdom's Painted Ladies.
I moved my divorced mermaid father with his son to San Sequoia.. I first moved them to another neighbourhood in a cute grandma cabin that I downloaded, but found out the pond there was not swimmable! So they needed to move again. The premade house in Gilber Gardens seemed lovely enough for two, but the current issue is they want to go swimming to the lake autonomously. They have bikes if I take them manually there (direct to get on the bike and where to ride and get off and go to swim), but by jogging it takes the son about an hour to get there and from the father 1,5-2 hours because he is lazy and walks. So that's a bit of a nuisance to keep an eye on them. I also placed a super cool bowling alley bar to the 40x20 lot. That's all that is happening in my San Sequoia for now.
