I once played a challenge where I had to have a family with a toddler and was only allowed to play/control the toddler through the rest of their life. It was interesting and fun and I grew so attached to that sim. I usually start my plays with a YA, marry them off have a family and like asimbsim, when the children grow to teens my focus starts shifting and eventually I play them as main sims and the parents that i start out with become more background. But it was fun playing a toddler through their entire life. It's actually fairly easy, their aspirations are not that difficult to complete, a lot easier than if your focus is on older sims.
