As you are all aware, we create Sims by pushing and pulling them as if they were made out of clay.I'm looking for some tips and tricks from some Simmers who are particularly experienced or are better with CAS than myself. My problem is always with noses. I don't know why, but I always seem to have an issue with getting them to look good. I'll be happy with the front, but the minute I turn my Sim to the side, it just looks silly. The bridge of the nose will either be too curved inwards or outwards and the tip of the nose will look too long. If I alter anything, it changes the appearance of the front of the nose too. I need advice!

I find I end up trying all the different noses, both front and side views, until I get close enough to what I want that I don't have to tweak in detail view *too* much. I'm starting to wonder if I don't actually crave even more, finer control points for nose dragging.

I hate to say this but I miss the sliders. I always knew just how much I was changing something. I think it takes a good eye to get it right.

The nose sliders work different in and out of detail mode. The bridge curve is done out of detail mode. Hover over the bridge at the side view until you get the rotate symbol, then rotate to straighten or curve the bridge. In the regular, non-detail mode, you can make the nose tip stick out more or less, rather than turn the tip upwards or something else. It took me a while to find those adjustments because I expected them to be in detail mode.

I think you might be able to go into detail edit mode and play around with it more but I'm not 100%,

I also struggle with the nose.
While we are at it, when it turn red does it mean it's at it's limit?

Yeah, you can. I still struggle, though! I think I'm just hopeless with noses, lol. :tongue:

Yeah the pushing/pulling is really nice for body detail - but when I'm going for something really specific on the face I find myself struggling more than I did with the sliders. Either I push/pull and seemingly nothing happens - or something really dramatic happens.

In cas you'll always think "Omg I made my character wayyy too thin" or "omg not fat enof but maxed out fattness" or "omg their nose and ears freakd meh out big time" or "this outfit has glitter but can't see nun" etc etc but then in world, every detail looks as intended. So make a sim in cas then test play them, see if this is the case then if it isn't the case in your game, consider clicking the nose outside dtail edit mode but on face mode then picking one from tht menu.
