What are the seasons like in different worlds?

I live in the north coast area of British Columbia and I can confirm we get a LOT of rain. We do get thunder storms but not quite at the frequency of what we get in the game. For some reason I always pictured Brindleton Bay as Nova Scotia or somewhere in east coast Canada but I suppose it could be my end :)
