I have a feeling that Guru who asked for kind of cars people would like to see was for the FX cars in coming worlds and for those parked in parking lots when they were making BB. If you notice there a some new ones in the parking lots.
As for the early surveys - those were not made by Maxis but by EA's marketing even before the game came out.
