Ah, yes, the Klepto trait. Forgot about that one. I'd add that to my least used list. I don't hate the trait, I have given it to a few of my Sims. But only if that Sim's story will be specifically centered around the trait. For instance, a R2R Sim that will be using that trait as their only means of making simoleans. I gave it to a couple Sims in my tries at the Asylum Challenge too, just to see if they'd steal anything interesting at work. They never did though, only books and dirty dishes, piles and piles of dirty dishes. Why? lol
If I notice a townie has that trait though when I'm doing a bit of culling in household management, they get deleted tout de suite. Especially if my main Sim in that save has a retail store. It's annoying when a townie Sim visits your Sim's store and steals an expensive masterpiece painting worth a lot of simoleans. I always have my Sim ask them to leave and then immediately open household management to get rid of them. :p
