I love these rating threads. They are so fun. I'm going give a rating of out of 10 for the gameplay, world, CAS and build/buy. Not in any particular order. Packs I'm not rating on account of not much in terms of gameplay or exploration: Businesses and Hobbies, For Rent, City Living, Island Living and Life and Death, I have those packs but I haven't explored them nearly enough to give them any sort of rating.
The statements and ratings below my opinions and should not be stated as fact. We can agree to disagree. :)
1: Growing Together - My favorite pack. Gameplay is peak especially for generational gameplay. I use this pack all the time in my gameplay since I love playing families. The world does leave a lot to be desired, but I do like that you can get a four bedroom starter home on the cheap. Gameplay: 10/10. World: 7/10. CAS and Build/Buy: 10/10
2: Seasons: Love the weather in this game. I don't really do the festivals or anything but when I do, they are okay. I do love the look of the snow and rain in the game. Although the scared of thunderstorms moodlet does annoy me a bit. I don't really do much in this pack and the weather is just there because the pack is installed but not a bad pack. Gameplay: 8/10. World: N/A. CAS: 9/10 Build/Buy: 10/10
3. Cats and Dogs: This is the first expansion I bought because I love having pets in my game. However, the pets in this game are hella needy. Constantly begging for walks when they got a walk is a bit insane. The world is nice. That lighthouse has seen many a Sims woohoo and proposals so I have a special place in my heart for the Brindleton Bay lighthouse. CAS is cute too. Gameplay: 9/10. World, CAS, and Build/Buy: 10/10
4. Horse Ranch: Similar to Cats and Dogs. Love having pets in my game. One thing I do wish though is that there was an equestrian or horse trainer career. I loved that career in Sims 3 and it would have been nice to see it make a return. Oh well. The world is beautiful and very vast. Big fan. CAS and build buy are okay. Country isn't really my style but I would use it if my gameplay calls for it. I don't really deal with the nectar making but it looks fun and a great way to make money. Horses aren't cheap. Gameplay: 9/10. World: 10/10 CAS and Build/Buy: 7/10.
5. Cottage Living: I don't really play this pack very much although I have a new save file that focuses on this pack. I can't rate the gameplay but I have been in Henley-on-Bagley a lot and used Build/Buy and CAS a lot from this pack and I like the world and the items. I mean it also has animals so that's a plus. Gameplay: N/A (haven't played enough). World: 10/10. CAS: 9/10. Build/Buy: 10/10
6. Get to Work: I can count on one hand how many times I played the active careers in this pack. But from what I did play, it was fun. A little redundant after a while. Magnolia Promenade is a sad excuse for a world though. Like what even is that? Gameplay: 8/10. World: 1/10. CAS and Build/Buy: 7/10
7. High School Years: Gameplay in this pack is also redundant. I like the idea of it though but after playing the active school gameplay it gets boring after a while. The constant pop ups for cheerleading and football need to go. The world is awesome though and my Sims spend a lot of time at the pier. Subjectively CAS and Build/Buy practically save this pack. Gameplay: 7/10. World, CAS, and Build/Buy: 10/10
8. Lovestruck: This pack is hilarious. Cupid's Corner is great. You find some of the most interesting characters on there. I don't really do the 'fun in the bedroom' games with the costumes but maybe I should. The world is nice. Gameplay, World, CAS and Build/Buy: 9/10
9, Snowy Escape: I played this pack for like a hot minute back when I first bought it like 3 years ago. I have a save that I'm using to fully explore what this pack has to offer. But from what I had seen, I liked the hiking and snowboarding in this pack. Gotta play it more to fully get the Snowy Escape experiance. Gameplay: 9/10. World: 10/10. CAS and Build/Buy: 8/10
10. Discover University. I avoid Uni like the plague it takes so long for Sims to complete their degree. 3 Sims weeks is way too long for something that isn't much fun. The idea of dueling universities though is pretty cool. But as for the gameplay not a fan of the length of the university classes. And the fact that classes are rabbit holes and term paper and presentations take SOO long to complete just makes this pack feel more like a chore than something fun to play. Gameplay: 5/10 World: 8/10. CAS and Build Buy: 7/10
11. Get Famous: This pack is pretty cool. The actress career is fun. I have a Sim who is currently an actress. The world. Eh... it's an awkward world. Not terrible. Mid. Gameplay: 10/10. World: 5/10. CAS: 9/10. Build/Buy: 8/10
12: Eco Lifestyle: The NAP are the bane of this pack's existence. The NAP's annoying impact on my Sim's lives, make me have this feature turned off permanently. It's a shame really because that's the whole point of this pack. But it's intrusiveness just kills the feature for me. And don't get me started on Bess and her random beggy calls. Other than that, though, the world is nice and CAS and Build/Buy are good too. Gameplay: Ehhh (the main feature of this pack is turned off permanently so IDK) World: 8/10. CAS and Build/Buy: 7/10
13: Get Together. I started getting into the club scene in my current save and I like it so far. Not a feature I would use all the time but it's a good thing to have to keep up with friends. World is amazing though. Very large with a lot of things to do. CAS and Build/Buy are good as well. Gameplay: 9/10. World: 10/10 CAS and Build/Buy: 7/10
As stated before I haven't explored Life and Death, Businesses and Hobbies, Island Living, City Living or For Rent nearly enough to feel like I'd give them a fair rating. I'm planning on changing that though.
