I don’t think they will replace babies, infants seemed to be new life stage. But I do think that if this is the case, the baby stage will last super short up to 24 hours on normal lifespan (or maybe just few hours) and then boom and you have an infant. Completely replacing babies would force them to update the childbirth. It could happened and I will be super happy with new animations, but I suspect this is not what they will do. That being said, I’m excited for the new life stage and hopefully there is some customization and new activities. Seems like one expansion pack has sim carrying infant on their back, which mean we should have ways to take them out (hopefully not only by picking up in the base game), maybe traditional strollers for base game and more fancy ways in dlc.
