I think those are just different colloquial terms in different countries or regions for the same thing. :) Lots of people call them playpens where I live, although as GalacticGal noted, a popular brand name in the US is Pak 'n' Play. But it's all more or less the same thing.
I think a play pen in the U.S. is a little bit bigger than a pack ‘n’ play and square rather than rectangular….but, all are pretty much the same. I hope we get a wooden crib as well, if not with babies then in a generations pack for them.
I'm curious to know, that if these new infants are not tethered in any way, if the wonderful cc cribs out there will now work just fine. :) That's supposing we don't get a ready crib, or if some of us want to redecorate a room, you know?
