What are your Top 5 Favorite Venue Types

The Sims 4 has many different types of Venues, and each venue can affect who shows up in different places. What are the top 5 venues you visit most often and enjoy building? Share the types of venues and why in the comments.

Here's a screenshot of where you can change the venue for a build.

My Favorite Venues are:

1. Beach Venue
2. Pools
3. Karaoke Bars
4. Art Center
5. Micro Homes

Most of these venues have simple requirements and make gameplay more interesting.

While I find visiting a Gym causes townies to bulk up, I noticed that regular beach visits make sims much more lean. The same thing happens when going to a pool.

Karaoke has a ton of fun songs, so I almost always visit one with my sims. Karaoke Bars also meet most of the requirements of Lounges, Bars, and Night Clubs. If I want to mix things up, I sometimes make a venue that can be changed into different venues. Makes new sims appear, causes different events to happen, and it can mix up the fun with a simple click.

Art Centers have so many activities, and that's how I learned that when you have more stuff for sims to do in a venue beyond what is required, you can essentially get more sims to show up. I have a beach lot that I put a tv in... It's fun when Sulani Sims show up for scary movie night. It's not actually an official island event, but at night with a high enough quality tv, it's not unusual for sims to go to the beach just to watch some horror movies.

Micro Homes tend to be excellent and simple homes. I discovered that there is a sweet spot for how much you put into a sims home before the volume of clutter and things cause lag. Micro Homes force me to build a little smaller, have nice impacts on social interactions, and create a challenge for building. That being said, I can still put a lot more than I thought into a micro home.

  • I only build homes but these are my favourite venues to visit/play at.

    • Spas (more reworks like this please ♥)

    • Restaurants

    • Retail (when I'm running it)

    • Parks (thanks to this community insane talent in the gallery)

    • Cafes & Libraries
  • 1)Nightclubs and Lounges- I think of them as the same thing even though they are separate in the game and do have slightly different real world definitions. The main cast of my favorite save loves getting together at those venues. They do a lot of friends night out get togethers, or they did anyway.

2)Spa- A lot of my sims like yoga so spas are a favorite. I also like to see to it that my favorite sims are pampered and content. My sims are lucky, they have a benevolent goddess watching over them.?

3)Beaches- Swimming is a favorite fitness activity for a lot of my sims. My favorite group of sims all live in Tartosa and the beaches there are a lovely place for group outings or simply a relaxing swim.

4)Bakeries- They are something I adore in real life and I carry it over into the game. I haven't made one in a long time, but there is a growing chance that in Tartosan Sun Summer and Darian will open one together. When I've made bakeries in the game and played them I can almost believe I'm smelling bread baking.

    5) I really don't have a fifth choice, but after a recent episode of Tartosan Sun I really enjoyed the restaurant I have in Tartosa. Carl's Dine Out mod made it all work flawlessly. I had a blast renovating one that I found in the gallery and I could see doing some more in other worlds and taking my sims out to them now that they're working properly thanks to that mod.

  • Just left a ton of Awesomes! I love the lists so far.

A big thank you to everyone that also shared mods and strategies that make venues more interesting and work flawlessly!

@HavenRose My second home was a beach I spent days, weeks, and months at!

I find that beaches are surprisingly versatile venues, and they work great with several different activities. I definitely recommend setting up a place to watch tv, painting easels, and placing instruments on a lot! Sims will do more than swim if they have other things to do there.

I can’t quite remember exactly how frequently they get used, but I think water slides are also ideal for beach venues.

I tried adding canoes and aqua zips to a beach venue. But, the water vehicles tend to disappear. The open world mostly has sims using Canoes, but I would really love to see aqua zips in action.

Aqua Zips are actually extremely fun water vehicles, and I recommend others to give them a try! You can easily buy them at a Beach Kiosk in Sulani. The only reason I don’t regularly use aqua zips is because most of my sims are merfolk.

@DaniRose2143 I still need to visit the Beaches in Tartosa!
  • @Metior_Ice There are three of them. The main one in front of the fountain. Just on the other side of the lighthouse there is one with a buildable 40x30 lot behind it. The third is on the north side, across the canal from the wedding venue at the base of the waterfall. The third one is a lagoon but it is swimmable.
  • My favourite venues are

Cafe- I do alot with this lot, some are Bowling allys,a child's play centre, skating ,ice rink , cinema and of course just a normal cafe is good
