I use a KiaraSims mod called Twilight Years. It really helps make elder feel like a unique life stage with a point to it and not just a waiting-out-the-clock stage.
I'll use the knitting aspiration for any creative sim, not just elders. I've been a knitter for 15 years and I'm still nowhere near being an elder, lol. Lots of kids and teens in my game learn to knit! :)
