I'm not much of a builder, so I've kept most of the originals & added the venues that came with all the packs. (Spa, restaurants, bowling alley) Family play is my main style, so the parks are my usual go-to lots. I've updated the 3 big ones with more playground equipment & toddler tunnels & a few pet items. The park in Oasis Springs now has a basketball court, and I've replaced the fireplace in the clubhouse with a big screen TV & video game console (since the sims kept lighting the fireplace in sweltering heat). I don't do big weddings very much, so I converted the San Myshuno park into a big playground for sims of all ages.
The only venues I've taken out are the retail lots, Magnolia Promenade is now a residential area. I don't care much about owning businesses, & shopping is kind of pointless, so they were just taking up space.
