What did you do with Magnolia Promenade?

I do not play there but it may serve its purpose someday, however, I am trying to figure out why four lots being that you can't add lots and the developer have to give us neighborhoods why give four lots and not more, it would have made sense if we can add lots.

Most of the time I forget it exists. I have placed four restaurants there, but my sims hardly visit them, which is too bad actually. A waste of space, and the surroundings there are actually very pretty. Maybe I'll change the lots to residential and build apartments there or something. :)

I can't remember what expansion it's from. Can anyone remind me?

I have been planning to turn the lower case "r" shaped building (on the 30x40 lot) into an "extended stay" motel, for my Sims to "live" at. It's gonna be an entire "gut job" of the shop, but it will be simple enough. Scary part is - it looks so much like the old motel that I used to live in a long time ago. :lol: Hopefully I will use Magnolia Promanade more if I start living there.

I'm now planning to also replace the other shopping lots with a bar and gym. Gotta see what I have left to work with for the last lot.

Anyway, that's what I decided to do with my Magnolia Promanade. Pics once I get done. :wink:

Thank you for all your inspiration! I’ve watche YouTube videos and googled images for ideas, but I just can’t decide. I only know for sure that I don’t want it to be residential. I’m thinking of hotels if I can find a decent mod.

I know this is a very old thread ? im sorry but I just sorted my magnolia promenade, I normally forget about it but I wanted too change that, I added a Starbucks coffee shop, a dunkin donuts restaurant, a new and better shopping centre (mall) and a salon by using get famous make up chairs and dressers it's a spa lot, I made it a teen hangout place every lot has the teen lot trait

I add a Darkside Curiosity shop I found on the gallery that I love, a wedding/prom shop that also included food items (tho those seem to not save well and start to expire upon entering shop even tho they should never have an expiration bc of sim that made them), and I usually add a maternity/baby/toddler shop where sims can go get trendy maternity clothes that will work well as they get bigger, and buy things to add for a child coming. Now that there will be rocking chairs those will go great in that kind of shop too.

When it first came out I had my first Sim family move there, but since it has always been fully commercial. I plop a premade restaurant down every time. I admit I haven't played a retail store in a while, but I have used the town for that before.

I added a bookstore, which sells books written by all of my authors, although it is a little bit of a convoluted pain to do this. (The owner is Mortimer Goth, and I have to have my writer sims individually gift their books to him in bulk, then he can sell them. I wish there were a better way.) I also added an art gallery, which primarily sells paintings by the owner, although occasionally she picks up paintings from other (played and NPC) sims and sells those, too.

I still have the default clothing store, but I never use it; eventually I will delete it, and then I will probably add either a bakery or a flower shop.

I also left the largest store, which will eventually become a department store owned by the Landgraabs (not Nancy and Malcolm, some extended family I added for them). But I haven't gotten around to it yet.

Basically, I'm trying to make it my own personal dream shopping plaza. :D
