I've had a few die from emotions. Mostly the goofball trait sets this off and I have to watch it closely.
The worst, "accidental" for me was a vampire. I am a rotational player and while I was out with another family, I get a notification that a vampire from my other family is burning to death. By the time I found him, he had died. He was vital to the story I was telling, so I quit without saving. Unfortunately for me, I had saved minutes before this all went down. So what happened next was a series of loading into the game, trying to save him, failing, and quitting without saving. I finally loaded into HIS family, thinking I would load into the home lot and then just "bring Sim here". Which also didn't work, because by the time I brought him home, he was still outside and before I could get him inside..... death. So I had to eventually admit defeat. I was pretty devastated and frustrated and had to rework my entire story. Like why is a vampire outside at 2pm

I feel this. I've been finding my Vampires outside just standing around in the sun with no umbrella, not moving. I think it's a bug. I haven't lost any yet because when I see them I keep cheating their needs up to buy them more time while I try to reset them. Last time I had to leave the lot altogether.
