Maybe that Sims Mobile is taking over and that Sims 4 is done for? It seems everyone wants to get in on the mobile gaming bandwagon for some reason.
The market for mobile games have been growing in recent years and is now bigger than tha markets for PC games and console games put together. See http://nordic.businessinsider.com/mobile-games-more-money-than-console-pc-chart-2017-6?r=US&IR=T
The reason is the huge growth in the number of smartphones and the market for such games is especially huge in the very populous countries in Asia. So the game companies just has to make more of such games.
The markets for PC games and console games haven’t become smaller though. So even though the game companies have to make more mobile games they also have to make just as many games for PCs and consoles as they did earlier. They just have to expand because the total market for games has been growing a lot too.
So don’t fear the mobile market. It won’t be that market that finally will kill the big Sims games for the PCs! :)
That's the most comforting news I've heard far too long..
Even EA CEO Andrew Wilson stated that in an interview I just saw yesterday - that he sees a Billion people around the world being connected to EAs games on all devices they own from pc, to mobile, to console, to VR as that is where they are heading and aiming. He want people to be able to play ALL their favorite games on any and all devices, any time and any place in the world.
VR hmm? That could be interesting but I wonder if we could switch between sims that way that are in the same household.
Still the PC needs to get the most attention.
Oh I won't be doing VR - I tested a couple of VR sets and both made me very ill with in minutes. One of my sons who is a programmer and avid hardcore gamer experienced the same motion issue just not as quickly as I do - but we were told if you suffer any kind of vertigo, serious headaches or motion sickness in any form - you will most likely not be able to tolerate VR - and boy were they right. For me it was almost instantly in both sets I tried. My son lasted about 15-20 minutes. So nope - not going for VR. I stayed ill rest of the after noon after trying them.
To be fair I do have vertigo in some games and in cars, and get Migraines with aura - so I probably should have never volunteered to try it. LOL. But I couldn't resist - lol.
My older brother can go for hours. There was even someone game where he piloted a jet or something, he did barrel rolls while looking all around and didn't even get the slightest bit queasy. That shouldn't be possible.
That surprised me with my son as he has no problem with flying, sky diving, bungie jumping, loves carnival rides, you name and he's done it. He plays first person shooters all the time and many of those simulation and car racing games with no issue. But actual VR did get to him. He was shocked it did. I think it has a lot to do with it is not like looking at a screen - it is like you are there - but at the same time - every tiny movement of your head makes things spin really easy - it is magnified compared to real life or looking at a screen. Your eyes just can't move as fast as the tiniest movement you make that makes VR picture move.
Unlike your brother though - I could have never taken any of that - so I should have used better common sense and not tried it. LOL
I am sure there will be plenty of people who won't have issues with it - other wise there would be no point in these things being made. I will envy all of them from afar. LOL.
Yes VR can be brutal. I myself am also not too interested in it. We got a couple of VR headsets around the property here and although I love horror films, this one night we were playing a horror game in VR and I had to stop. Somehow being in a mental institution, losing touch with reality around you and hearing people's voices (those of my friends but it coulda fooled me lol it was weird) really freaked me out. When a spider came into the mix, I was out. VR just really isn't my thing. I like reality and I like being in it. Although there are also many personal reasons for this :)
Back on topic, I think it will be education, witches, romance or seasons. Especially with the patch updating so many child and romance related things, I think education and romance may really be next. But I'd like seasons or witches a lot more myself :) we'll see when we get there.
