They added in pets, seasons, and university. My game is set so anything else they add in now is just a bonus.
I like the idea of a carnival, fair, or amusement park like someone else suggested. We don't really have anything of that nature. It would also be a good way to introduce stage magicians and acrobats to the profession list.
I really like professions as long as they aren't already something we can do in game. Maybe they could do a review of the existing base game professions and add another branch to them. For instance:
Astronaut: Space Station Captain (might also give us another area to explore but this time in space to go with Sixam)
Athletic Big League Coach (for people that like to be involved with athletics but not as an athlete)
Business: Real Estate Tycoon (this could also be linked to business ownership like we used to have in Sims 3 and be leveled by investment values)
Criminal: Extortionist (think other white collar crimes instead of gangsters and hacking)
Culinary: Nectar Producer (we don't have this yet and could easily be added in with new harvestables and build mode items)
Entertainer: Dancer (make it an official profession as it was in previous iterations)
Painter: Muralist (could start off with graffiti artist and move up to work for corporate headquarters)
Secret Agent: Intelligence Agency Leader (working behind the scenes - possibly a reintroduction of the Intelligence career and the SCIA)
Stylist: Fashion Model (you would still work with photographers and stylists but this time on the other side of the lens)
Tech Guru: Technology Researcher (these sims would be involved with getting new technology out there and be a specialized link to the Scientist career)
Writer: Magazine Publisher (Authors and Journalists have to be published somewhere... could start off as one page newsletters passed out on street corners all the way up to Condé Nast level publishing)
