I play mostly young adult single sims. I have a few families with children and they are mostly young adult too. They all tend to be different with different careers and interests from one another, so skills tend to vary among them. I do like to use the simple living lifestyle with all of them and they all do laundry and vacuum their houses. I use community lots a lot in my gameplay and sims will always be out and about. I do not add big skill objects in their houses, unless it's something they are very serious about, like say a piano for their career in music. For everything else, they need to use community lots.
