Another thing I'd love, is to skip moodlets altogether if possible. I'd love to replace them with just animations. I mean, yes it's cool when my sim gets a moodlet that they are newly engaged. But what would be even cooler is if they autonomously showed off their ring if they are the person who was proposed to. Or randomly call up all their close friends and family to tell them the good news. I want to SEE what is going on in my sims' world, not read about it.
Exactly! I think the moodlet system messed up the game so badly. Instead of our sims having these autonomous ways to show their mood (as they did in previous versions), it was replaced by words and a timed meter. That was lame and a huge part of the reason our sims seem so lifeless. The moodlets were part of the whole RPG direction the game was trying to go in when it first came out. I wholeheartedly agree with you. I want to see my sims doing things, not read about it.
And to add to that, when you take our sims off screen to do things, we lose complete control of them and I am not ok with that.
Absolutely. No moodlets, please! I want my sims to react within the game, not in a points system.
