I have hired a ranch hand because my sim has a foal, 16 chickens and 10 mini sheep on her farm. The Ranch hand just seems to be wandering around inside the house, My sim has so many little mini sheep to clean now, will the ranch hand help with that or do they only do big live stock like the horses?

They will also clean inside the house, which I personally wish they wouldn't but there doesn't seem to be a way to stop that. The worst thing though is that while they can collect manure and harvest plants if you ask them to - then these things go into your household inventory - they don't seem to be able to milk goats or shear sheep. Isn't it kind of ridiculous that they can't do that? I mean the milk/wool could just go into your household inventory too.
But if a simmer does not have the CoL pack, will there then be any milk/wool object to add to your inventory? I think it can't be done because not everyone owns Cottage Living.
I hope they added milk and wool to the Horse Ranch pack for people who don't have Cottage Living. It wouldn't be fair to not have goat milk and sheep's wool if you buy HR but don't have CoL.
They didn't. I'm guessing because you need those items in Cottage Living.
Gonna have to try firing and rehiring because all mine does is dance to the stereo all day - if they even decide to show up!
However, all the townies in the world are coming over night and day and filling up my back porch with de-stressing potion from the grill - I think I have about 32 last count in my refrigerator - it's annoying but we do use the grill quite a bit so I can't put it away. These sims are obsessed with the thing!
@Llandros2012 I got tired of my bin getting kicked over so build a fence with a gate, allowing only the household with the lock options. Perhaps you can fence off your grill area only allowing your household to use the gate to it ;)
My ranch hand is great. He's doing everything and he's very helpful. The only thing that I could be annoyed about is that he tends to rummage the trash cans, because he has a slob trait, but then he actually also throws the trash piles away, so it's more funny than annoying. He loves to spend time with all the animals, watering plants and cleaning. The only thing I don't want him to do is repairing things, because I want my Sim to gain handiness skill herself. I was also surprised he was quite a handsome ranch hand. My Sim has flirted with him a lot and I'm thinking of making them a couple. ;)
His name is Jonathan and his traits are socially awkward, clumsy and slob. Perfectly right fit (really???) for my romantic, ambitious and perfectionist alien Sim who also has a player trait from completing a serial romantic aspiration and a bonus trait cheerful. :D

Thank you! I had no idea it was the NAP that was causing it. You can't sell those things so I have my sims drink them all to get rid of them - it is extremely annoying!

That is so funny that you said that because I just rage-built a pen for both the grill and the trash can for the exact same reason. I'm hopeful that it will be effective!
The first Ranch Hand I got was awesome. A better butler than the butler. I started another house that needed one and I can't even find the ranch hand most of the time. Try locking the Ranch Hand out of the house so he stays in the yard/stable area. If they're still not working, just fire and rehire
There’s a bug right now where ranch hands will show up for two days, and then not come again. This has been happening to me, annoyingly. If I hire another ranch hand through the phone, the same one as before shows up. It was autumn the first time this happened to me and the day he didn’t show up was Harvestfest, so I thought “well maybe they don’t come on holidays”, but then I googled and others have been having the same issue. And it happened on days that weren’t holidays.
