What does it mean to release sprit into netherworld?

I have two grave stones, and I want the ghosts to haunt my house so I can add them to my family, but the ghosts have not came out of them yet. When I click on a grave stone there's an option to relea...

wait would it delete them off the heritage family tree?


In current version, it won't. Or so I thought until another update deleted some deleted sim's pictures in the family tree.
So don't delete them.
